Here are images from fiac! the Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain, France’s largest international contemporary art fair. This was a 4-day exhibition from October 19-21 that took place across three locations: the Grand Palais, part of the Louvre, and the Tuileries Gardens. Besides these main events, many local galleries and other venues hosted art exhibitions to coincide with what was being called “Contemporary Art Week”, making it a veritable overload of contemporary art.
Below are photographs I took at the Grand Palais, which was the main event for the major international galleries. Los Angeles was represented by Blum & Poe, Regen Projects and Gagosian. David Zwirner of New York was also present, along with a slew of other “New Yorkaise” galleries. (You can also see my photos from SLICK, which was one of the affiliated events, in a previous post. Unlike the Grand Palais expo, SLICK featured emerging galleries only.)
I took many pictures as you will see in the gallery below, so I’ve featured the most interesting ones at the top. Some of the images are a bit graphic, so sensitive souls: prepare yourselves!

I thought the man in black WAS art! Dressed like a very stylish man. I can only wonder what is causing the grimace! The Miro piece reminds me of Brad Howe’s mobile that hung in Mark’s office.
