Bonjour, Paris!

Bonjour, Paris!

October 14, 2010 |  by Nicole

Today was my first morning waking up in Paris. The first thing I noticed was that even though I’d been up since around 6am, the only light coming through my window at 7am was from the street lamp. It was only around 8 o’clock that the sun seemed to have turned the sky a light grey-blue.

I had breakfast with Stella in the salon. We both had a bit of fresh baquette with butter and fruits de bois confiture (“fruits of the forest jam”). She had some warm milk and I had hot chocolate. She is adorable and smiley, and her English is very good. Inah, the housekeeper, had gone to the boulangerie for a half baguette, and Stella she told me she wanted to wait for the baguette to have with her milk.

A little before 9 o’clock Madame, Inah and I walked Stella in her stroller to her English-speaking private school. The light at this hour was really beautifully diffused and bathed all the buildings in a rosy-golden glow. We walked through the Parc Monceau, among all the runners and walkers, to the school where fashionable mothers and fathers in long coats and matching scarves dropped off their children. Inah and I then accompanied Madame to the bus stop at the other end of Parc Monceau which would take her to the travel agency where she worked near the Gallerie Lafayette.

Now I am back at the apartment and I finally have the WiFi password. I will go out and take pictures of the apartment and the park to post.

À tout à l’heure!

  1. Coucou Nicole!

  6. I miss YOU!! I will take a video of Stella so you can meet her. And Cerise – le bunny!!! She fits perfectly in to our pet color scheme: she is black & white.

  7. When we were in Chicago in August, Michael ordered purple Nikes at Niketown so I guess it’s a 6th grade boy trend! Michael just scored 2 goas at his soccer game. We are experiencing a slight drizzle. Natalie took Ace through a course of 8 jumped! Perfectly! Her big show is coming up next Sunday! I will take lots of pics. I think she is already over 150 points ahead of everyone else so she should have a good morning! We leave Wednesday for the bay area! I’ll fill you in! Bon Bon (because of the wet d.g.) is now officially ORANGE even her mane! I guess I have an orange horse until summer! Michael suggested that once we returned from the soccer game that we have hot cocoa and watch “The Sound Of Music” He is definitely carrying your torch now!!!

    LUMU,
    mom

A few months back I had the pleasure of attending Expo West, and scouted out all the coolest, tastiest, healthiest foods.
